I'm not a windows user, but can you not copy the files to an
external drive, or usb stick, and then apply them to the new system
(and keep the external drive or stick as a backup, at least until
you are sure that the are working ok) ?

The GIMP's native file format ( .xcf :
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=.xcf&atb=v140-1&ia=web ) should be forward compatible
with newer versions of GIMP or Windows. Note however that it is sometimes
compressed as *.xcf.gz ; *.xcf.bz2 ; *.xcf.xz ; etc. Anyway, you should be able
to just copy over the files somehow and it will work.

Regards,

I experienced the same issue with the GIMP program, and unfortunately, I didn't
found a solution, and all my files were lost. The most valuable was my case
study. I have spent weeks preparing it, and then I decided to take help from
https://ukessay.com/case-study-writing-help website, and I was more than happy
with the result. So if you find any ways of how to transfer the GIMP files from
Windows 7 to Windows 10, let me know, I do not want this situation to happen
again.
